Opens scoring against Lens
Vanaken scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Lens.
Analysis: Vanaken broke the deadlock just before halftime, reacting quickest to a rebound after Robin Risser parried a deflected corner into his path. The Belgian midfielder's close-range finish gave Club Brugge the lead despite Lens having created several dangerous opportunities earlier in the contest. Vanaken has now recorded one goal, four chances created and four tackles across three Champions League appearances this season. His regular starting role in central midfield continues to provide Brugge with an experienced attacking presence, particularly when arriving in the penalty area to finish chances.
Creates three chances in Inter tilt
Vanaken registered two shots (zero on goal), one block and three chances created adn won one of two tackles in Tuesday's 4-3 win against Inter Milan.
Analysis: Vanaken was a lot more active than in the opener, as he was influential in the final third, pacing his club in key passes with a couple of teammates, but he didn't directly take part in any of the goals. He had recorded just one interception and one block in the previous contest.
