Available to face Augsburg
Burke (illness) is available for Saturday's Bundesliga clash against Augsburg after recovering from illness and completing a full week of training, according to coach Mauro Lustrinelli. "Oli has trained all week."
Analysis: Burke has recovered from the illness that forced him to miss Union Berlin's 0-0 draw against Borussia Dortmund and is back in contention for Saturday's trip to Augsburg. The Scottish attacker completed the entire training week without setbacks, suggesting he is ready to return to the matchday squad. However, having also recently endured a lengthy injury absence, Burke could initially be limited to a substitute role as he continues rebuilding his match fitness. His return provides Union with additional attacking depth ahead of the weekend encounter.
Ruled out against Dortmund
Burke is unavailable for Saturday's Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund after falling sick ahead of the contest, according to the club.
Analysis: Burke has suffered another setback after spending approximately two and a half months on the sidelines due to Achilles tendon problems. The forward had recently resumed full team training and was considered close to returning to competitive action, with coach Mauro Lustrinelli previously suggesting he could receive limited minutes off the bench. However, an illness will prevent him from featuring against Dortmund, further delaying his return to the pitch.
