Analysis: Cash's absence appears to be precautionary after muscle soreness prompted Aston Villa to leave him behind rather than risk him in the Champions League. He had just completed 90 minutes against Hull City on Saturday, and the lack of any indication of a serious problem offers reason for optimism over a quick return. He was quiet at the other end too with a single clearance, though that sits alongside the six tackles, one interception, four clearances and two blocks he has to his name in the first two games. The arrival of Aaron Wan Bissaka's arrival could put his hold on the shirt under pressure and may lead to rotation, potentially in Europe.
