Extends deal with Brentford

Balcombe has signed a new three-year contract with Brentford through the summer of 2029, with a club option for a further year, the club announced.

Analysis: Balcombe has spent his entire career at Brentford since joining the academy at age eight, but has made just one senior appearance for the club, a 2023 Carabao Cup shoot-out win over Newport County in which he saved two penalties. He's spent much of his development out on loan, including spells at St Mirren and Motherwell last season, and remains behind the club's established first-choice options in the pecking order. Head coach Keith Andrews and director of football Phil Giles both praised his professionalism and role in driving standards within the goalkeeping department, and the extension gives him another multi-year window to push for a larger role in the squad.
