Analysis: Brobbey remains without a goal through his first three Premier League starts despite attempting six shots over that span. The three chances created Saturday were unusual production for a player whose primary role is to finish attacks rather than create them, and his value to Sunderland should ultimately be measured more by his ability to convert opportunities in the box. His three attempts against Brentford showed he continues to get into shooting positions, but the striker will need to turn that volume into goals to provide the finishing presence Sunderland expect from him.
Struggles in loss

Analysis: Brobbey's first match of the campaign was one to forget. The forward put a single shot on goal and was largely shut out throughout the match. He couldn't make his mark on the match and struggled to really get involved in the attack. He will hope to be more efficient after a slow start here against a promoted side.
