Two shots in win

Olmo recorded two shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Friday's 2-1 victory against Belgium.

Analysis: Olmo played a big role in Spain's win, as the first goal happened after he took a shot that was deflected by Thibaut Courtois (undisclosed), allowing Fabian Ruiz to score. Olmo has been a regular starter for Spain all tournament long and should keep his place as long as manager Luis de La Fuente decides to roll with the same 4-2-3-1 tactic against France in the semifinals on Tuesday. He only has one assist, though.

Records two shots

Olmo recorded two shots (zero on goal) and two chances created in Monday's 1-0 victory versus Portugal.

Analysis: Olmo played up until the 85th minute Monday, having been replaced by eventual goal scorer, Mikel Merino. He would earn two shots and two chances created in his time on the field, although unable to break the Portugal defense. He has now gone three appearances since his last goal contribution, with one assist and no goals World Cup.

Takes three shots in win

Olmo registered three shots (zero on goal) and two chances created in Thursday's 3-0 win against Austria.

Analysis: Olmo didn't find the back of the net in this one, but he was a creative spark in midfield while often connecting well with his Barcelona teammates Pedri and Lamine Yamal. Olmo has been in and out of the starting XI throughout the World Cup, but he could be back in the mix for the Round of 16, with a tougher matchup awaiting against either Croatia or Portugal.

Shot from bench

Olmo registered one shot (zero on goal) in Friday's 1-0 victory against Uruguay.

Analysis: Olmo wouldn't appear Friday until the later parts of the match, entering in the 60th minute. He would see little work as Spain just looked to preserve their lead, notching one shot and 14 passes completed. He has now started in one of Spain's three games so far.

Earns assist

Olmo recorded one assist on one chance created to go along with two shots in Sunday's 4-0 win against Saudi Arabia.

Analysis: Olmo would start Sunday against Saudi Arabia after he was only a substitute in their opener, a good move for Spain management after he earned an assist on Mikel Oyarzabal's 24th-minute goal. He would record a few shots as well, but neither would hit the target. He will push for further starting time, although Fabian Ruiz and Marcos Llorente will also have a strong case for Olmo's starting role in future matches.

Should play decent role

Olmo has been named in Spain's World Cup squad and is set for a larger and more central role in coach Luis de la Fuente's starting lineup given the current injuries.

Analysis: Olmo ended a strong campaign with Barcelona having contributed seven goals and eight assists across 33 La Liga appearances, establishing himself as one of the most complete attacking midfielders in the Blaugrana's history-making title-winning side. The attacking midfielder was Spain's joint-top scorer at Euro 2024 and brings the creativity, goal threat and versatility to operate across the front line and in the No. 10 role or on the left wing, making him the natural candidate to fill the void if Lamine Yamal (hamstring) and Nico Williams (hamstring) can't be fit in time. Olmo heads into the World Cup with enormous confidence after a brilliant club season and the determination to prove himself the undisputed star of a Spain side that arrives in North America as one of the genuine favorites to win the tournament.

Adds assist in El Clasico

Olmo assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Real Madrid. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 52nd minute.

Analysis: Olmo provided an assist on his only chance created during Sunday's El Clasico victory. The attacking midfielder wasn't overly involved in the match, but he came up big to create a big chance and help earn all three points. This win secured the league title with three matches to spare in domestic action.
