Ever present in defense
Seko has started and played all 90 minutes in each of Le Havre's five Ligue 1 matches this season.
Analysis: Seko remains a fixture at the back for Le Havre, continuing the ever-present role that saw him voted the club's Player of the Season last year and earn a spot in Japan's 2026 World Cup squad. Le Havre have struggled for results to open 2026/27, sitting near the bottom of Ligue 1 through five matches, but his standing in the lineup has not wavered. His versatility between center back and a deeper midfield role gives manager Didier Digard options as the club looks to turn its form around.
Back in training for new season
Seko is back in training for the new season with Le Havre after the World Cup, according to the club.
Analysis: Seko made 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season, playing 2,625 minutes without a goal contribution while picking up six yellow cards, a solid debut campaign in France after joining from Grasshoppers. He also featured for Japan at the World Cup, starting in the defense against Sweden and contributing one tackle won, three clearances and one interception in that draw, and his return to club training now shifts focus to preseason preparations ahead of the new Ligue 1 season.
