Analysis: Holes played 64 minutes in Wednesday's 3-0 World Cup loss to Mexico, anchoring Czechia's back three and helping keep the co-hosts in check before the breakthrough after halftime while recording four tackles (three won) and three clearances. He was part of a defensive unit that eventually ran out of answers against Mexico's rotated but still dangerous attacking group in the second half. The loss officially eliminated Czechia from the tournament, with the side finishing bottom of Group A on one point.
