Konstantinos Tsimikas
Adds assist
Tsimikas assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), nine crosses (three accurate) and six corners in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over Villarreal.
Analysis: Tsimikas has a nice role on corners when he's included in the starting XI, offering more offensive upside than Milos Kerkez from left-back. He showed that off Tuesday with a nice assist from a set-piece and multiple dangerous attacks from open play. Tsimikas is still the backup option, but with Liverpool flying in multiple competitions he will get plenty of minutes.
Supplies two assists in win
Tsimikas assisted twice to go with 13 crosses (five accurate) and eight corners in Wednesday's 6-3 victory versus LASK.
Analysis: Tsimikas recorded two assists while creating six chances across 90 minutes in Wednesday's 6-3 Champions League victory over LASK. He also delivered 13 crosses, five accurate, while completing 71 passes and contributing eight corners, two interceptions and one block in a highly active two-way performance. The outing marked his first start since Sept. 12 and easily his most productive attacking display of the season.
Starts, plays 45
Tsimikas registered four crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Fulham.
Analysis: Tsimikas started and played the first half of Saturday's draw before being pulled for Milos Kerkez. Tsimikas is purely the rotation at left-back at this point, as Kerkez is clearly preferred in the same role. With Liverpool competing in a variety of competitions, Tsimikas should be in for a significant role moving forward.
Limited to backup role
Tsimikas has played just 21 minutes across two appearances in all competitions this season, with Milos Kerkez established as Liverpool's first-choice left-back.
Analysis: Tsimikas remains firmly behind Milos Kerkez in the pecking order and is unlikely to see consistent playing time while the starter is available. However, the Greece international remains a useful attacking option at left-back, particularly because of his crossing quality and ability to provide service from wide areas. Those qualities could make him valuable when Liverpool need additional attacking threat from the position, while rotation across multiple competitions should also provide occasional opportunities. His role remains limited for now, but Tsimikas has the skill set to contribute with assists when given minutes.
Leaves Roma
Tsimikas won't stay at Roma past his season-long loan spell.
Analysis: Tsimikas struggled to earn a regular role in Italy, especially in the final few months of the season, tallying one assist and notching 65 crosses (14 accurate), 20 corners and 28 clearances in 25 appearances. It remains to be seen whether he'll stay at Liverpool after their appointment of Andoni Iraola.
Out for Verona meeting
Tsimikas didn't make Roma's squad list for Saturday's contest against Verona because he's under the weather.
Analysis: Tsimikas could have gotten a shot without Wesley (suspension), but he's dealing with the flu. Devyne Rensch and Angelino will take care of the left wing. He'll most likely return to Liverpool after a disappointing loan spell during which he assisted once and notched 11 key passes, 65 crosses (15 accurate) and 20 tackles in 25 appearances (11 starts).
