Matteo Darmian
BOL
Posts five clearances against Cagliari
Darmian won one of two tackles and had five clearances, one interception and one off-target shot in Saturday's 2-0 win over Cagliari.
Analysis: Darmian wasn't credited with the clean sheet because he subbed off a few minutes before the final whistle, but was essential in stifling the opponents with his experience in the back. He set a new season high in clearances, maintaining his season-long streak with at least three (11 total). Darmian has also tallied one or more tackles and interceptions in all three appearances, totaling four (one won) and seven, respectively.
Signs with Bologna
Darmian has agreed to a season-long contract with Bologna.
Analysis: Darmian was let go by Inter at the conclusion of his previous deal, leaving Milan after six seasons. He was a deep reserve in the most recent one, notching 11 crosses (two accurate), five tackles and six clerances in eight appearances (three starts). He'll back up Nadir Zortea following Emil Holm's serious thigh injury and could also play on the right-hand side of the defense.
