Will miss several matches
Shaw (undisclosed) will miss several matches while recovering from injury, manager Michael Carrick told media during Tuesday's pre-match press conference before Wednesday's UCL match against Como. "Luke is a little bit longer than that [10 days or so]."
Analysis: Shaw has missed the last two matches, and if Carrick's recovery timeline holds true, then he'd also miss the matches against Como, Bournemouth and Chelsea, with an eye toward returning against Roma on Nov. 3. This is a huge blow for Manchester United as they're also missing several players who can cover the left side of the defense, including Patrick Dorgu (hamstring) and Lisandro Martinez (thigh), meaning Noussair Mazraoui will likely have to step in on that role moving forward.
Misses training ahead of Como clash
Shaw (undisclosed) was absent from Manchester United's team training session Tuesday and appears unlikely to be available for Wednesday's Champions League encounter against Como, according to Steven Railston of Manchester News.
Analysis: Shaw continues to struggle with an unspecified injury sustained during the 1-1 draw against Tottenham, when he recorded five interceptions and five clearances. The experienced defender has since missed Manchester United's Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid and Sunday's Premier League meeting with Leeds United, with his absence from Tuesday's training session raising further doubts about his availability. Although he has not officially been ruled out against Como, his chances of featuring appear slim given his continued lack of involvement in team activities.
