Pushes for more attacking minutes

Maupay has appeared in four of Marseille's first five Ligue 1 matches and made his first start against Paris Saint-Germain on Sept. 20 following his first start of the season against Besiktas in the Europa League.

Analysis: Maupay has played roughly 114 league minutes, with his previous three appearances coming off the bench. He has yet to record a goal or assist and missed two scoring chances in the 2-1 loss to PSG but could be in line for increased playing time since coach Bruno Genesio tried to start him ahead of Angel Gomes and drop Amine Gouiri in a creative role.

Heads back to Canebiere

Maupay will return to parent club Marseille following the conclusion of his loan spell at Sevilla.

Maupay had previously made 22 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille in 2023/24, scoring four goals and providing four assists, and now heads back to the club where his future will be assessed heading into the 2026/27 season under new coach Bruno Genesio.

Scores opener in loss

Maupay scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-1 defeat versus Osasuna.

Analysis: Maupay put Sevilla in front in the 69th minute, getting on the end of Djibril Sow's perfectly weighted pass and guiding a composed header from the middle of the box past Sergio Herrera for his second La Liga goal since arriving from Marseille in the winter window. He earned his first start in four matches and made his presence felt with three shots, including two on target, while also chipping in defensively with a tackle. The former Seagull will be counted on to keep delivering down the stretch as the club battles to stay clear of the relegation zone.
