Scores off bench in UCL loss
Zirkzee scored a goal off his lone shot after coming off the bench during Wednesday's 4-1 Champions League loss against Como.
Analysis: Zirkzee was brought midway through the final frame to replace Bruno Fernandes and wasn't making much of an impact but then, deep into stoppage time he appeared unmarked inside the box to score a consolation goal for Man Utd. This was the first goal in all competitions this season for the forward, who's yet to start a game and doesn't have a lot of the touches when he takes the pitch so he should still be avoided in fantasy teams for now.
Returns to Netherlands action
Zirkzee came off the bench for the final 20 minutes of the Netherlands' 2-2 Nations League draw against Greece, making his first international appearance since 2024, according to the club.
Analysis: Zirkzee made an immediate impact after his introduction, coming close to scoring with a header as the Netherlands fought back from a two-goal deficit. The appearance marked his return to international action after nearly two years and followed his late call-up as a replacement for the injured Brian Brobbey. Zirkzee has remained a substitute option for Manchester United this season, totaling just 47 minutes across three Premier League appearances, so the international minutes provide a useful opportunity for him to build match sharpness.
