Signs extension through 2029
Tolisso signed a two-year contract extension with Lyon that will keep him at the club through June 2029, the club announced.
Analysis: Tolisso continues his long association with his boyhood club after agreeing to a new deal following an outstanding 2025-26 campaign. The midfielder played a leading role from the center of the pitch last season, recording 15 goals and six assists while establishing himself as one of the top performers in Ligue 1. As captain, he has also become an important figure off the field, providing leadership and experience to a squad featuring several younger players. Tolisso remains a cornerstone of the club's project and is expected to continue playing a key role over the coming seasons.

Analysis: Tolisso had a big impact as a substitute, breaking a 1-1 tie with his goal and then assisting on what would end up being the winner for Lyon. The midfielder should continue having a role against Rennes, a team which has scored a lot of goals but has also conceded 41 times so far in Ligue 1 play.
Should return Saturday
Tolisso (muscular) returned to full team training Friday and is on track to be back for Saturday's clash against Auxerre, according to Olympique et Lyonnais.
Analysis: Tolisso had been ruled out of Sunday's clash against PSG while working individually with muscular problems, making his return to the group a significant boost for Lyon heading into the weekend. The experienced captain should slot back into his starting role if he comes through Friday's session cleanly, with Khalis Merah ready to step in if any last-minute concerns emerge. Getting Tolisso back at the heart of the midfield is exactly what Lyon needed for the final push of their season.
