Marquinhos is back in France with PSG for pre-season training ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Analysis: Marquinhos has returned to Paris following his stint at the World Cup with Brazil, starting in all five of his appearances while recording three interceptions, five tackles and 16 clearances. He will now prepare to serve with PSG as they look to make it a third straight season of UCL glory, one of the few clubs to have done that in consecutive seasons. He will be the base of their defense as always and will likely remain captain, always likely for a major role with the French giants.

Analysis: Marquinhos co-led Brazil in interceptions during the Round of 16 disappointing loss. The centerback finished the campaign with 16 clearances over 5 starts. That was his third World Cup and 11th overall appearance.

Marquinhos had one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Monday's 2-1 victory against Japan.
Analysis: Marquinhos led Brazil in clearances to help them earn the comeback win. The PSG centerback also co-led them in tackles during the match. He is now heading to Round of 16 play with 15 overall clearances, four tackles and three blocks.
Makes two clearances vs Scotland
Marquinhos had two clearances in Wednesday's 3-0 win versus Scotland.
Analysis: Marquinhos wasn't really tested and made his fewest clearances in group stage, finishing with 11 overall in three starts. The centerback did not have any other relevant stats during the match. The captain and Brazill will now face a tougher matchup against Japan in Round of 32 on Jun 29.

Marquinhos recorded two tackles (one won) and five clearances in Friday's 3-0 win against Haiti.
Analysis: Marquinhos led Brazil in clearances to help Brazil earn their first win and now has nine after two starts. The PSG centerback made his first two tackles in the competition and logged the first clean sheet. He also won the second-most aerials (three) for his side.
Makes four clearances in draw
Marquinhos generated two shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Morocco.
Analysis: Marquinhos failed to guard Ismael Saibari in Morocco's opener, but made the second-most clearances (four) and led Brazil in aerials won (three) during the draw. The team captain was also one of five players co-leading them in shots. The centerback won Ligue 1 and Champions League trophies for PSG in the European season.

Marquinhos will start at center-back and captain Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Analysis: Marquinhos is coming off another successful season with PSG, leading the Ligue 1 giants to the Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League titles while making 26 starts (29 total appearances) between both competitions. PSG kept 10 clean sheets in the games he played, and he should form one of the best center-back duos in the competition alongside Arsenal's Gabriel.
