Misses cup tie as precaution
Nkunku (adductor) will not travel with RB Leipzig for Tuesday's DFB-Pokal clash against Rot-Weiss Essen as a precaution due to ongoing adductor problems, according to the club.
Analysis: Nkunku remains sidelined after missing Saturday's 4-0 win over Elversberg due to adductor problems. Leipzig have opted to leave the attacking midfielder out of Tuesday's cup fixture as a precaution, marking his second consecutive absence. He has recorded four goals and one assist across six Bundesliga appearances this season, including four starts, making him an important part of Leipzig's attack. Tidiam Gomis and Romulo could continue to benefit from additional opportunities in his absence, while his availability for Saturday's Bundesliga clash against Schalke 04 on Oct. 31 remains uncertain.
Not an option Saturday
Nkunku (adductor) is not in the squad for Saturday's match against Elversberg.
Analysis: Nkunku is not ready to feature after an adductor injury forced him to miss Friday's training session. His absence costs Leipzig an attacker who has recorded four goals and one assist across six Bundesliga appearances, including four starts. Tidiam Gomis or Romulo could replace him, depending on how Leipzig adjust their forward and attacking midfield positions. The length of his absence remains unclear.
