Decent providing service
Mukiele recorded one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 5-3 defeat to Manchester City.
Analysis: Mukiele would see quite a bit of action on both sides of the ball Sunday, showing off his endurance in the eight-goal thriller. He would notch a shot, two chances created and five crosses in the attack, still looking for his first goal contribution this season. He would also see a lot of work in the defense as City scored five against them, notching four tackles and four interceptions.
Offers attacking threat
Mukiele had four shots (one on goal) and three crosses (one accurate) in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Arsenal. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 91st minute.
Analysis: Mukiele was one of Sunderland's most active attacking players despite starting in defense, producing four shots and pushing forward regularly throughout the contest. He tested David Raya once and added three crosses, showing his willingness to get involved in the final third as Sunderland searched for a breakthrough. Mukiele's ability to occupy advanced positions should continue to give him opportunities for attacking contributions from the back.
