Available against Crystal Palace
Niakhate (hamstring) will be included in Lyon's squad for Thursday's Europa League clash against Crystal Palace, according to coach Paulo Fonseca, per Olympique et Lyonnais. "Niakhate will be in the squad."
Analysis: Niakhate has recovered sufficiently from the hamstring injury he sustained during international duty with Senegal to return to the matchday squad. The center-back missed Friday's Ligue 1 clash against Lens and had initially been expected to remain sidelined until Sunday's meeting with Nice. However, he resumed training Wednesday, and manager Paulo Fonseca has now confirmed his availability against Crystal Palace. His return provides Lyon with an additional defensive option, although it remains unclear whether he is ready to start.
