Remains doubtful for upcoming fixtures

Mendy (leg) remains questionable for Real Madrid's upcoming fixtures as the club has yet to provide an official update on his recovery from a serious thigh injury.

Analysis: Mendy continues to face uncertainty over his return to competitive action after undergoing surgery in May to repair a torn rectus femoris tendon. The left-back has been participating in team training sessions for several weeks but has yet to make his first appearance of the 2026/27 campaign, most recently missing Wednesday's Champions League encounter against RB Leipzig. Despite his progress in rehabilitation, Real Madrid have not provided any further information regarding his fitness or a potential return date, leaving his availability for upcoming fixtures in doubt. Alvaro Carreras and Marc Cucurella remain the primary options on the left side of the defense while Mendy works toward regaining full fitness. Given his lengthy absence, the French defender could require a gradual reintegration into competitive action once he receives medical clearance, although it remains unclear when that might happen.

Remains sidelined against Leipzig

Mendy (leg) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Champions League clash against RB Leipzig as he continues working toward his return from a serious injury, according to the club.

Analysis: Mendy remains unavailable despite having participated in Real Madrid's team training sessions for several weeks following surgery in May to repair a torn rectus femoris tendon. The left-back has made significant progress in his rehabilitation but has yet to make his first competitive appearance of the 2026/27 campaign. Although his recent involvement in training suggested he was approaching a return, he is still not ready to feature against Leipzig. Alvaro Carreras and Marc Cucurella remain the primary alternatives on the left side of Real Madrid's defense, with Mendy likely to require a gradual reintegration into competitive action once fully cleared.
