Doubtful with illness
Sabaly is questionable for Saturday's clash against D.C. United, with the MLS listing him in the injury report with an illness.
Analysis: Sabaly has scored two goals and one assist across 20 MLS matches played while featuring as an occasional starter in Vancouver's attacking midfield, but he more often comes off the bench, so his illness is manageable from a first-choice lineup perspective. If he needs another week to recover, the Whitecaps will see their ability to rotate affected and could use Emmanuel Sabbi and Ryan Gauld (lower body) on the wings.
Plays 45 minutes off bench
Sabaly played 45 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Cincinnati, contributing one shot (one on target) two crosses, one tackle and one interception.
Analysis: Sabaly's outing confirms he was available and fit as expected after clearing the injury report ahead of the match, and his productive cameo adds depth on the left wing with Kenji Cabrera (foot) still out. His workload will likely continue to build as Vancouver manages his return over the coming matches.
