Still unavailable Sunday
Taylor (knee) will not be involved in Sunday's Premier League contest against Manchester United, according to coach Gary O'Neil. "Jack won't be involved."
Analysis: Taylor remains sidelined following the knee cartilage surgery he underwent after last season and will sit out another league fixture Sunday. The midfielder is expected to provide a rotational option once healthy, but there is still no firm date for his return to competitive action. His continued absence leaves Ipswich with one fewer option in central midfield against Manchester United.
Out Saturday
Taylor (knee) won't be an option for Saturday's game against Sunderland, according to manager Gary O'Neil. "Azor Matusiwa and [Jack] Taylor are the only two expected to miss out. They aren't ready for this game."
Analysis: Taylor underwent knee cartilage surgery after the 2025/26 season, and while he's been progressing in his recovery, this game simply comes too soon for the 28-year-old midfielder. Taylor is expected to hold a rotational role in midfield this season, and with him and Matusiwa (undisclosed) sidelined, look for Florentino Luis (undisclosed) and Sasa Lukic to start in central midfield Saturday. Taylor's next chance to play will come against Manchester United on Sunday, Aug. 30.
