Scores early goal vs. Hull
Willock scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 2-1 win against Hull City.
Analysis: Willock found the back of the net just three minutes into the first half with a close-range finish. The midfielder has made the most of his uptick in playing time due to the absence of Joelinton (thigh) and Nico Gonzalez (head), as well as the summer departures of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes. Willock has started three of his five EPL appearances this season, scoring two goals, taking 10 shots (three on target) and creating two chances.
Two shots against Cherries
Willock registered two shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus AFC Bournemouth.
Analysis: Willock registered two shots and had his best moment shortly after halftime, flicking on Yoane Wissa's cross from the right for a glancing header that dropped agonisingly wide of Djordje Petrovic's post in what was Newcastle's clearest chance to level the score at 2-1. He played 63 minutes before being replaced by Matias Fernandez-Pardo, with manager Jaissle seeking fresh impetus as Newcastle trailed 2-1. Willock has now started two of the three Premier League fixtures this season, contributing one goal in the opener against Liverpool.
