Uncertain for Bremen clash
Ryerson (ribs) remains uncertain for Friday's Bundesliga clash against Werder Bremen after returning early from international duty with Norway, according to kicker.
Analysis: Ryerson isn't expected to face a lengthy absence after suffering the injury in a challenge and leaving Norway's match against Wales after just over 15 minutes. However, his availability for Friday remains uncertain and should become clearer over the coming days. The right-back has been a regular starter under Niko Kovac, while Dortmund lack a clear replacement on the right side if he's unable to feature.
Ends international duty early
Ryerson has ended his duty with Norway early due to rib problems, and will not play for the national team again this window, returning to Dortmund sooner than planned, according to Norway coach Stale Solbakken, per Aftenposten.
Analysis: Ryerson had already been dealing with a rib injury before the match against Wales, training without issue the day before, but a tackle early in the match aggravated the pain to the point he needed to be substituted after around 15 minutes. He will definitely miss Sunday's final Nations League match against Portugal, and whether this setback affects his availability for Dortmund's return against Werder Bremen on Oct. 9 remains to be seen, with Ryerson having started every match for the club this season.
