Starts and scores
Kalajdzic scored one goal to go with two shots (two on goal) in Wednesday's 3-2 victory over Sporting CP. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 72nd minute.
Analysis: For each of LASK's first two games of the Champions League, Kalajdzic served as a reserve, logging 32 minutes between two appearances. But after disappointing results in back-to-back games, the latest being a 6-3 loss to Liverpool, LASK demoted Samuel Adeniran from the striker position and started Kalajdzic in said spot. By scoring a goal Wednesday, perhaps Kalajdzic has warranted consideration to start moving forward.
Likely to start on bench Tuesday
Kalajdzic is expected to start Tuesday's UCL opener against AEK Athens on the bench, according to Austrian outlet Krone.
Analysis: Kalajdzic has yet to make his competitive debut for LASK Linz since joining the club from Wolverhampton in the summer transfer window. Due to his lack of match fitness, he's expected to begin the game on the bench rather than in a starting role right away. With Samuel Odeniran (face) out, expect Moses Usor to lead the attacking line.
