Not playing vs. Toronto

Gomes (back) isn't in the squad for Saturday's game against Toronto FC.

Analysis: Gomes won't be an option due to a nagging back problem. With his absence, Sekou Bangoura will start as his replacement, though he'll operate in a more advanced role.

Back problem leaves status murky

Gomes (back) carries a questionable tag into Saturday's matchup with Toronto, the MLS Player Status Report showed.

Analysis: Gomes has been losing playing time in his first MLS season after missing time with a leg issue in the spring and a thigh problem over the summer before this back complaint. When fit, the midfielder supplies accurate passing and the occasional tackle rather than goals or assists. If he can't go, Dylan Chambost and Sekou Bangoura are the likeliest to absorb his minutes in the center of the park.
