Quiet outing in loss
Janssen had two off-target shots and created one chance during Wednesday's 2-0 loss against L.A. Galaxy.
Analysis: Janssen had a goal disallowed due to an offside during the first half but other than that was mostly quiet, being mostly held in check by the opposing defense. The striker has scored four times over nine appearances since joining Portland midseason, but three of these goals came in a hat-trick as he's still in search of the form and consistency that led him to be a coveted player in Europe years ago.
Converts PK in draw
Janssen scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-3 draw against Sporting Kansas City. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 12th minute.
Analysis: Janssen converted a PK just before halftime to double Portland's lead with his fourth goal in the season. The forward also received his second yellow card in the proccess. That was his fourth start in seven overall appearances since transferring from Belgium in July.
