Roberto has arrived in Los Angeles Galaxy as a free agent following his departure from Serie A side Como, securing a deal through June 2028, the club announced Saturday.
Analysis: Roberto will add top-level experience to a Galaxy roster that is aiming to strengthen all of its lines for the final stretch of the MLS season. While he has been far from his best form recently, the veteran should have plenty to contribute for his new team and will aim to take a starting spot at some point, with the question being whether they use him as a central midfielder to cover for the loss of Edwin Cerrillo, recently transferred to Club America, or as a right-back in place of Miki Yamane (hip).

Roberto (thigh) had four passes and no other stats in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Napoli.
Analysis: Roberto was deployed late upon returning from a two-game absence and had little time to leave his mark on the game. He'll likely continue to play second fiddle to Lucas Da Cunha and Maximo Perrone in the final tilts. He has tallied two key passes, one corner and two tackles (two won) in his last five showings (two starts).
Option for Napoli clash
Roberto (thigh) "can't play the whole game but will be available Saturday," coach Cesc Fabregas stated.
Analysis: Roberto has recuperated from a thigh problem that cost him the past two matches and will resume splitting duties with Lucas Da Cunha and Maximo Perrone in the midfield. He has tallied two chances created, three tackles (all won) and three interceptions in his last five appearances (two starts).
Out against Genoa
Roberto (thigh) "is nursing a small injury and will hopefully return versus Napoli next week," coach Cesc Fabregas stated.
Analysis: Roberto will sit out the second tilt in a row Sunday versus Genoa, but isn't expected to be sidelined for a long time. Maxenque Caqueret will absorb his minutes behind Lucas Da Cunha and Maximo Perrone.
