Trains fully, option moving forward
Alvarez (concussion) trained fully this week and was not mentioned in the injury report by coach Edin Terzic, making him an option moving forward.
Analysis: Alvarez had exited the match against Atletico Madrid at halftime after sustaining a concussion in a collision with Morten Hjulmand, with Aitor Paredes stepping in during his absence. His clean bill of health now confirms he has cleared the concussion protocol, positioning him to reclaim his spot in Athletic's defense for Saturday's clash against Elche.
Suffers concussion Saturday
Alvarez exited Saturday's game against Atletico Madrid after sustaining a concussion.
Analysis: Alvarez couldn't continue after the first half following a collision with Morten Hjulmand and was substituted during the break, with Aitor Paredes taking his place. The latter should be in line for more minutes if Alvarez is forced to miss time going forward, though further tests will be needed to determine whether that'll be the case.
