Signs for Werder Bremen

Itten has joined Werder Bremen on a free transfer from Fortuna Dusseldorf, the club announced.

Analysis: Itten is currently with the national team at the World Cup, bringing 16 caps and five goals for his country along with experience gained at FC Basel, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Glasgow Rangers, Greuther Furth and Young Boys Bern before his move to Dusseldorf, where he scored 16 goals in 32 competitive appearances.
