Returns to midfield options
Peltola is back with D.C. United following international duty with Finland and is available for Saturday's MLS clash against Inter Miami after being omitted from the league's latest injury report.
Analysis: Peltola missed the matchup against Vancouver while representing Finland during the international break but is now back in contention for midfield minutes. The midfielder has been a consistent presence in D.C. United's rotation despite starting just four of his last 10 MLS appearances before the break. His return provides additional depth in midfield against Miami, although a reserve role remains possible given his recent usage.
Selected by Finland NT
Peltola has been called up by Finland for the international window between September and October.
Analysis: Peltola has started in just four of his last 10 league appearances for D.C. United, but he hasn't missed a game, and his presence in midfield will be sorely missed against the Whitecaps on Saturday. That will be the only match Peltola will miss, however, as he's expected to be available for selection against Inter Miami on Oct. 10. Finland will play four matches during the break, facing San Marino, Albania and Belarus twice.
