Assists in road loss
Atencio assisted once to go with zero corners and two chances created in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Los Angeles Galaxy. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 53rd minute.
Analysis: Atencio created Donavan Phillip's opener in the fourth minute with his first assist in the season. The midfielder led Colorado in both chances created and interceptions during the match, but couldn't help them avoid the comeback loss on the road. He also received his 10th yellow card in the 23 appearances (16 starts).
Suspension over
Atencio has completed his one-game ban and is available again in league play.
Analysis: Atencio missed the previous match against LAFC after accumulating eight yellow cards throughout the 2026 season, with disciplinary issues continually limiting his fantasy value. Having started in three of the last four league games he was available for, he could have a decent chance to regain significant playing time at the expense of either Hamzat Ojediran or Youssef Maziz. The former Seattle Sounders man will likely contribute in the central midfield zone for a team that has dominated possession in three straight contests.
