De Ketelaere scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Friday's 2-1 loss against Spain.
Analysis: De Ketelaere would score yet another goal for Belgium despite their defeat, notching the team's lone goal of the match on his two shots. This is a second game in a row with a goal for the attacker, as he bagged a brace in the round of 16 against the USA. That said, he ends his World Cup campaign starting in all five appearances while notching an assist and three goals, not seeing much production until the knockout stages.
Scores twice, adds assist in win
De Ketelaere scored two goals and assisted once from three shots and three chances created in Monday's 4-1 win against USA.
Analysis: De Keteleare left his initial struggles behind and emerged with a massive performance against the hosts, capitalizing on a pair of close-range opportunities in the ninth and 33rd minutes, respectively, and earning a rather fortuitous assist when the ball bounced off him towards Hans Vanaken in the 57th. The Atalanta attacker had looked uncomfortable in a No. 9 spot before this game, but the latest outing may strengthen his chances of retaining that spot ahead of Romelu Lukaku. Nonetheless, the next round will bring a tough challenge against Spain, the only team yet to concede a goal in the current World Cup.
