Chara had one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Atlanta United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 25th minute.
Analysis: Chara was back in the starting XI, his second straight start since a few matches off the bench following an injury. He would fail to do much in the match, continuing a rough season. That said, he has yet to earn a goal contribution in 20 appearances (11 starts) this season.
On bench versus Minnesota
Chara (hip) is among the substitutes for Saturday's contest versus Minnesota United.
Analysis: Chara has returned to the match squad after being sidelined since Aug. 20 and has a chance to reappear in the holding midfield rotation alongside Cole Bassett and Jose Caicedo. This is good news for the Timbers' depth, although the veteran lacks significant upside, with his value usually coming from accurate passes and a few ball recovery actions.
