Analysis: Olise took part in his side's intense comeback attempt by creating the chances for both of Kylian Mbappe's goals in the 48th and 66th minutes, respectively, of Saturday's clash. It was the end of a solid World Cup for the winger, who stood out as a playmaker and set-piece taker. Most notably, his tally of seven assists set a new single-tournament record that still belonged to Pele before this edition. Olise will hope to remain an elite attacker next season whether he stays with Bayern Munich or moves to another of the top European teams.

Insufficient effort Tuesday

Olise recorded four crosses (one accurate) and five corners in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat versus Spain.

Analysis: Olise had plenty of work in an attacking midfield role, creating two chances and drawing three fouls while retaining set-piece deliveries, but none of that was enough to open his team's scoring count during the loss. The winger lost assisting momentum toward the final rounds of the World Cup, although even after three straight games without a direct contribution, he remains the tournament leader with five assists.
