Expected back midweek
Diks (personal) is expected to return Tuesday or Wednesday after missing Friday's Bundesliga clash against Stuttgart, according to coach Alexander Blessin. "Diks is expected to return on Tuesday or Wednesday."
Analysis: Diks is nearing a return after missing the trip to Stuttgart due to personal reasons. The defender's expected arrival Tuesday or Wednesday leaves his availability for the DFB-Pokal clash against Karlsruher SC uncertain, although he could be back in contention for Saturday's Bundesliga encounter against Paderborn. Monchengladbach have been dealing with several absences in central defense, making his return particularly valuable. Diks could immediately compete for a starting role once he rejoins the squad.
Ruled out for personal reasons
Diks (personal) will miss Friday's Bundesliga clash against Stuttgart due to personal reasons, according to Bild.
Analysis: Diks has been ruled out of Friday's trip to Stuttgart for non-injury-related reasons, leaving Borussia Monchengladbach particularly short of options in central defense. With Ko Itakura (hamstring) and Jan Leszczynski (knee) also unavailable, Fabio Chiarodia is the only remaining natural center-back in the squad. Philipp Sander could move into central defense, while Daiki Hashioka and Joe Scally provide additional alternatives, with a switch to a back-four formation also possible. Diks' absence is not expected to be prolonged, with the vice-captain potentially returning for Tuesday's DFB-Pokal clash against Karlsruher SC.
