Starts against Tigres
Gallardo (international duty) is in the starting lineup Friday against Tigres.
Analysis: Gallardo has bounced back straight into the main squad in his return from a Mexico call-up. The left-back delivered an assist in the first of his three matches played during the international window. He has lacked attacking output in the Apertura campaign, yet his defensive stats have made up for it, and he's likely to retain high offensive projection as part of a dominant side. His inclusion will cause Brian Alberto Garcia to switch flanks and lead Diego Barbosa out of the initial lineup.
Absent for club
Gallardo is part of Mexico's squad list for the international friendly games in September and October, ruling him out for his club's week 10 visit to Cruz Azul.
Analysis: Gallardo was heavily involved in the previous five contests across all competitions, so his exclusion from Diablos' squad leaves a major void in the defense. In addition to Gallardo, Everardo Lopez, who has sometimes played at left-back, is suspended, opening an opportunity for Brian Alberto Garcia to start in that position. The veteran defender will be expected to return to the rotation after missing the match against Cruz Azul.
