Extends Revolution loan
Turner had his loan extended by New England through Dec. 31, 2026, with an option through 2027 and a subsequent purchase option, the club announced.
Analysis: Turner returns to New England after his second consecutive World Cup with the United States, having made his fifth career start on the World Cup stage. The goalkeeper has recorded 27 clean sheets and 29 wins across 55 caps for the USMNT, and in MLS play he has piled up 54 wins in 126 starts across eight seasons, ranking second in club history in starts, goals against average, wins, saves and save percentage. The 2021 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year holds the top win percentage among goalkeepers in franchise history. Turner is expected to remain the clear starter between the posts as the Revolution continue their playoff push. New England resumes its season with a two game homestand at Gillette Stadium beginning July 22 against Toronto FC.
Ends loan spell
Turner will return to parent club Lyon following the conclusion of his loan spell at New England Revolution, though both clubs are in negotiations over a permanent transfer while the goalkeeper is representing the United States at the World Cup.
Analysis: Turner made 14 MLS starts across 1,260 minutes this season, recording 60 saves and three clean sheets while conceding 18 goals, and has also made one World Cup appearance for the USMNT. The American goalkeeper had previously established himself as a Premier League level option during stints at Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, and now heads into a crucial summer window that could determine his long-term future as New England are looking to secure a permanent deal.
