Provides assist after ankle recovery

Odegaard (ankle) delivered an assist during Thursday's UEFA Nations League loss to Wales.

Analysis: Odegaard was dealing with a slight blow heading into this game, but it didn't prevent him from making a full-match appearance. He took advantage of his opportunity to thread a great through ball in the first half, notching his third assist in as many games over the current international window. If he avoids further setbacks, the midfielder will be expected to remain an elite ball distributor and will likely be chosen over Eberechi Eze at the No. 10 role when club activity resumes after the break.

Back in training after ankle knock

Odegaard (ankle) returned to Norway training Wednesday in Cardiff after missing Tuesday's session, but remains uncertain for Thursday's Nations League match against Wales, according to head coach Stale Solbakken, per VG. "I wish I could say yes, but I don't know. I can't say no either. He's going to do some testing today, but we'll see. He's here. If he wasn't, there wouldn't have been a chance.", with assistant coach Brede Hangeland adding earlier that X-rays showed no significant damage. "As far as I understood, there was nothing dramatic in those [X-ray] images."

Analysis: Odegaard hurt his ankle when Bernardo Silva caught him late in Sunday's defeat to Portugal. He missed training Tuesday but was back on the pitch Wednesday, and Norway will decide on Thursday's game against Wales after seeing how he handles the session, with Sunday's match in Portugal the next chance if not. Whether he plays this week or not, being back in training so soon is good news for Arsenal after the scare, as their top scorer this season with four goals across all competitions looks set to avoid a lengthy layoff.
