Picks up thigh strain
Neres has been diagnosed with a low grade right semimembranosus muscle strain, Napoli announced.
Analysis: Neres suffered the injury in practice following the Villarreal game and will need three to four weeks to recover. Noa Lang, Matteo Politano and Giovane should enjoy an uptick in minutes while he's unavailable, but Alisson Santos (thigh) should be out much longer.
Comes off the bench midweek
Neres (knee) drew one foul and committed one and completed seven passes in 14 minutes in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Arsenal.
Analysis: Neres continues to see limited action after a challenging summer from an injury standpoint, as he's working his way back to full fitness after knee surgery. He's set for increased opportunities if he can handle more minutes, since the starter, Alisson Santos (thigh), will be out for a while. He'll likely share time with Noa Lang and Antonio Vergara.
