Tallies four saves against France
Gill made four saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-0 loss versus France.
Analysis: Gill was excellent between the posts once again as he was beaten only by Kylian Mbappe's spot kick, after which he made an impressive double save to deny the French star a brace. It was the end of the Paraguayan national team's World Cup journey, where the keeper emerged as one of the squad's brightest players. After the disastrous debut against the United States, he bounced back and conceded only two goals over the last four matches while finishing with an average of 4.6 saves per game.
Stands out in win over Germany
Gill recorded six saves and allowed one goal in Monday's 1-1 (5-4) penalty shootout victory against Germany.
Analysis: Gill was under intense fire but responded well for the most part and conceded only on a surgical header by Kai Havertz. He set a new tournament high in saves and stepped up during the shoot-out, rejecting two PKs. He has kept two clean sheets, surrendered five goals, four of which in the same tilt, and made 19 saves so far. Paraguay advanced and will face either France or Sweden on Saturday.
