Assists equalizer Saturday
Tonali assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), three crosses (two accurate) and three corners in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Analysis: Tonali whipped in a cross in stoppage time Saturday, barely connecting with Dominic Solanke in the 92nd minute for the equalizing goal. It marked his first goal contribution since joining Spurs in the summer and it came at a crucial moment. He was solid on the defensive end too, recording one tackle, one clearance and one blocked shot in his full 90 minutes of action.
Finds starting role
Tonali (undisclosed) is in the starting XI for Saturday's clash against Aston Villa.
Analysis: Tonali was confirmed fit by coach Roberto De Zerbi after the knock that had ruled him out of the Carabao Cup clash against Liverpool proved to be nothing serious, earning a starting role in Tottenham's midfield for the fixture against the Villains. Mangaer De Zerbi made clear all available options were ready to play, and Tonali's immediate return to the starting lineup is a significant boost for a side that had been managing his physical condition carefully in the early stages of the season.
