Out Sunday with illness
Reus is sidelined in Sunday's El Trafico derby against Los Angeles FC due to flu-like symptoms, Andrew Wiebe of Apple TV reports.
Analysis: Reus' absence removes one of the Galaxy's key creative options from the lineup, which now includes Erik Thommy instead. The veteran's unavailability could force the club to lean more heavily on other attacking playmakers, while Pablo Ruiz and Robert Taylor may have to handle most of the team's set pieces. If Reus is only dealing with a minor sickness, his presence in the squad should not be at risk for the final rounds of the competition after his absence against LAFC.
Scores, assists in win
Reus scored a goal off his lone shot, made an assist and created three chances during Wednesday's 2-0 win over Portland.
Analysis: Reus made his first start in over a month and just kept adding to his account, this time scoring his team's first goal and assisting the other with a free-kick cross from the right. That's now four goals and three assists over the last seven appearances for the veteran attacker, who's heating up at the right time as his team is still in the hunt for a playoff spot.
