Available off bench Saturday
Dotson (hamstring) is on the bench for Saturday's game against the Fire.
Analysis: Dotson sustained a hamstring injury in late July but is ready to return, and he cracks the bench after a four-game absence. Dotson has been a regular starter for Seattle when healthy, notching one goal, six shots, five chances created, 17 tackles, 14 clearances and 12 interceptions in his 12 league appearances.
Sidelined once again
Dotson has sustained a hamstring injury and will miss around two to three weeks, manager Brian Schmetzer told Jackson Felts of 93.3 KJR.
Analysis: Dotson finished Seattle's last game with the injury, and further tests will leave him sidelined for the next couple of weeks. Dotson's next chance to return could come as early as Aug. 16 against the Whitecaps following the opening phase of the Leagues Cup, but it wouldn't be surprising if he needs more time to regain his full fitness.
Scores in Thursday's loss
Dotson scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Thursday's 5-1 defeat against Portland Timbers.
Analysis: Dotson scored a fairly meaningless goal Thursday, a header in the 87th minute which cut the Portland lead to 4-1. It marked his first goal of the season and it came on his first shot on target of the campaign. He also created two chances for the second time this season. While he put up decent defensive numbers, his side allowed 10 shots on target and five goals in a dismal return to MLS play following the World Cup break.
