Available for Atletico clash
Mittelstadt (foot) has resumed full team training and will be included in Stuttgart's squad for Tuesday's Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid, according to coach Sebastian Hoeness. "He trained yesterday, took full part in training today and is definitely in the squad."
Analysis: Mittelstadt has recovered from the foot laceration that kept him out of Saturday's 1-0 Bundesliga defeat to Hamburg, having successfully completed consecutive training sessions with the team. The left-back is now confirmed to be available for Tuesday's European fixture, providing Stuttgart with an important defensive option after his brief absence. Although his inclusion in the squad is guaranteed, it remains to be seen whether he will immediately return to the starting lineup.
In contention for Atletico clash
Mittelstadt (foot) returned to team training Monday ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid after missing Saturday's 1-0 Bundesliga defeat to Hamburg with a foot laceration, according to Daniel Haug of Kicker.
Analysis: Mittelstadt resumed training alongside his teammates after a brief absence caused by a cut on his foot, taking a positive step toward returning to competitive action. The left-back participated in Stuttgart's final training session before facing Atletico Madrid, although his availability for Tuesday's contest has yet to be confirmed. His return to the pitch suggests he is making progress, but a final assessment will determine whether he can rejoin the matchday squad.
