Earns first league start

Merino had five shots (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 2-0 victory against Everton.

Analysis: Merino made his first Premier League start of the season after previously earning two starts in the Champions League, receiving an opportunity in Arsenal's midfield against Everton. The Spaniard was particularly active in attacking areas, attempting five shots despite failing to register an effort on target. His involvement demonstrated a willingness to push forward and provide an additional presence around the opposition penalty area. Merino will look to build on this opportunity, although competition for places in Arsenal's midfield could continue to limit his starting opportunities.

Contributes during winning cameo

Merino recorded one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 1-0 win versus Nottingham Forest.

Analysis: Merino recorded one off-target shot and one cross across 24 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest. He entered alongside Viktor Gyokeres and Jurrien Timber in the 66th minute as Arsenal made a triple substitution designed to improve their attacking threat after struggling to break down Forest's defense. Merino offered an additional presence in midfield during the closing stages as Arsenal eventually found the breakthrough through Noni Madueke before protecting their narrow advantage.
