Decent versus Spain despite big loss
Posch had one shot (zero on target), two interceptions and three clearances and won two of three tackles in Thursday's 3-0 loss to Spain.
Analysis: Posch was the only Austrian defender not to completely flounder, even if his team conceded three goals, and put together a respectable stat line. He has notched at least one clearance in all four World Cup matches, totaling 11 and adding four tackles (two won), nine clearances and three shots (zero on target). He's heading back to Como following a loan spell at Mainz during which he had a consistent role and was a steady contributor on both ends.
Limited impact defensively
Posch recorded one cross (zero accurate) and three clearances in Saturday's 3-3 draw versus Algeria.
Analysis: Posch didn't have much impact in a game where Austria conceded three goals, as he offered little going forward and posted average numbers defensively. Posch could remain at right-back to face Spain in the Round of 32 on Thursday, but he's not likely to carry a ton of fantasy upside in a game where Austria are expected to be massive underdogs.
