Returns to team training
Obermair (calf) has returned to full team training after dealing with calf discomfort, according to the club.
Analysis: Obermair appears to have quickly moved past the calf issue that recently limited him and prompted his withdrawal from international duty with the Philippines as a precaution. The winger is now training normally with Paderborn during the club's trip to Washington, D.C. He should be available for the upcoming friendly against D.C. United as he builds toward the return of competitive action.
Played through minor calf issue
Obermair played through minor calf discomfort in Sunday's 3-1 win over Hoffenheim, according to coach Ralf Kettemann. "Two days before the match it pulled a bit, on Friday he had a little bit of trouble, it was relatively quickly clear that it would work."
Analysis: Obermair started as planned, with Clemens Lippmann warming up as a precaution in case a late change was needed, and was eventually substituted around the hour mark on Sunday. Paderborn will use the international break for him to fully recover from the discomfort, with Obermair having already withdrawn from the Philippines national team duty to manage his workload.
