Assists off the bench

Assignon assisted once to go with one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava.

Analysis: The match was already in hand when Assignon came on, but he was able to log an assist in limited minutes. He's likely to stay on the bench against Hamburger SV but if he does come on he's unlikely to be tested in the defensive third. Hamburger SV have just five goals in five Bundesliga matches.

Makes return in friendly

Assignon (shoulder) came on in the 59th minute of Stuttgart's friendly against Heidenheim during the international break.

Analysis: Assignon made his return to match action after a lengthy absence due to a shoulder injury, getting just over 30 minutes in the friendly. The appearance represents an important step after he had previously been limited by a lack of training rhythm despite overcoming the injury. He will now look to build his fitness during the remainder of the break and could be in contention for his first competitive appearance of the season afterward.
