Analysis: Olivares will technically be an option for St. Louis City at the MLS level, but he's expected to be a third-string alternative, with most of his minutes coming in MLS NEXT Pro. That's because the No. 1 goalkeeper for CITY2, Colin Welsh, suffered a knee injury during last weekend's match against North Texas SC and will be sidelined for an extended period. Olivares has made 39 career starts in MLS NEXT Pro with 11 clean sheets in his career with CITY2.

Recalled from loan spell

Olivares has been recalled from his loan at Sporting Club Jacksonville by St. Louis City SC on Thursday.

Analysis: The 24-year-old goalkeeper gained valuable experience in the first half of the season since he was the undisputed No. 1 goalkeeper at Sporting Jax, making 17 starts between the USL and the US Open Cup. Olivares is expected to be used as a backup option between the posts if he stays with St. Louis for the rest of the 2026 MLS season.
