Back available against Freiburg
Knauff (thigh) is back available for Saturday's clash against Freiburg, according to coach Adi Hutter. "It's very positive that Ansgar is back."
Analysis: Knauff had recently returned to team training after his thigh injury proved more stubborn than initially hoped, an issue that had already ruled him out of the match against Mainz despite earlier optimism about a return. His confirmed availability now marks the culmination of that recovery, positioning him to be considered for a return to the squad. Knauff was a regular starter with previous coaches and will look to compete for that role once back to full speed for the eagles.
Spotted in team training
Knauff (thigh) was spotted back in team training Tuesday, the club posted.
Analysis: Knauff had been ruled out of the recent match against Mainz despite earlier optimism from coach Adi Hutter about a potential return, with the thigh injury proving more stubborn than initially hoped. His return to full training now marks a positive step forward, and his path back into the matchday squad will continue to be assessed ahead of Saturday's clash against Freiburg.
